Hashimoto's: check the stack, not just the hormone.

Selenium, vitamin D, and methylation cofactors all show up in the thyroid-autoimmunity research, and rarely come up in a short endocrinology visit. Scan the stack you already take and see what is there.

What the evidence shows.

Several randomized trials have found that selenium supplementation lowers thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies in people with Hashimoto's. Whether that translates into better long-term outcomes is less settled; a Cochrane review judged the evidence on clinical endpoints insufficient. So selenium is worth a conversation, not a foregone conclusion.

Standard endocrinology centers on hormone replacement. The supplement layer, selenium, vitamin D, and methylation cofactors, often goes unmeasured. NuLevels surfaces what is in your stack so the conversation with your doctor starts from facts.

A note on safety. Selenium and iodine can affect thyroid function. Talk to your doctor before adding them, especially alongside levothyroxine, and do not change a prescribed dose on your own.

What NuLevels checks.

Is selenium in your stack at all?

The randomized evidence for selenium lowering TPO antibodies is reasonably strong, yet it rarely comes up in a 15-minute endocrinology visit. NuLevels shows whether selenium is in your stack and at what amount.

Is your vitamin D dose meaningful?

Many people with Hashimoto's run low on vitamin D, and 1,000 IU often will not move the number. NuLevels reads the D (and any K2) on each label so you can see your real total before talking dose with your doctor.

Folic acid, or the active folate?

Hashimoto's overlaps with MTHFR. If you carry the variants, the folic acid in your multivitamin may not be the form your body uses best. NuLevels flags folic acid the moment it appears.

Scan your stack. NuLevels reads every label and flags missing selenium, low-dose vitamin D, and synthetic folic acid the moment they appear.

It labels the form of each B-vitamin and totals selenium and vitamin D across your products, so you can see your real amounts.

Every nutrient is totaled across all your products and shown in one view. Share it with your endocrinologist in one tap.

Ask about your own record in plain language: “Do I have selenium in my stack?” “Is my vitamin D dose where it should be?” The coach answers from the stack you built and the labels you scanned, not generic advice. It is information, not a diagnosis.
